I had his cradled in my lap in these two pics. He loves to cuddle! I love that! :) I really like the dress I was wearing, it made for a very pretty back ground! :)
Here he was sleeping in my oldest brother's lap, last night. Shakespeare loves everyone and we all enjoy taking turns holding him. This morning my oldest brother took him to our grandparents, who live right down the road. I guess Shakespeare walked most of the way down and back up. I wasn't so sure it was a good idea, I don't want him thinking it is ok to roam the neighborhood, but oh well. My bro hadn't known. :) Hopefully Shakespeare will stay home like Julia does.
He is so sweet! :)
He's such a good puppy! He only barks when he's playing with other dogs. I have never heard him bark otherwise!
He is doing really well with House training. He wakes me up at night; we haven't had an accident at night for probably a week now! :) During the day, it's harder for him to figure out that he can't just eliminate where ever he is. It's become a challenge to keep up with him, but not because he's naughty, I just figured he would be fully house trained by now. Mama says, "Welcome to parenting" LOL! :) He is really doing better... he will walk out of the way to go, sometimes, so at least he's noticing when he has to go. Well, sometimes! :) I have really worked on not yelling at him when he is going in the house. I have read that yelling only tells the puppy not to eliminate around you... not to not go on the floor. I have also learned that in personal experience... with Julia, I had yelled, 'spanked', and rubbed her nose in the carpet trying to train her. And guess what? Up until last month I had never seen he go. Anywhere. Outside or inside. Well, we figured out she was going in the boy's room. :( I tryed a techneak I had read about, 'reverse house training', where you keep the dog in a kennel until she/he goes when you take her outside. It took her all day to pee around me, and 3 days to poop! That is how scared of me she was!! I feel just offal about it and am determined for Shakespeare's training to be different! So... I believe yelling ect. only causes dogs to be afraid of the trainer. It may seem impossible to not yell or say "no!" at a puppy when he pees on the floor, but it really is possible! So if I can't yell ect. what am I supposed to do? Allow my puppy to eliminate on the floor!?? No! The book (Shelby Marlo's New Art of Dog Training) says to calmly pick up the puppy and take him/her to the proper elimination area. The hard part for me is waiting for him to finish going once I take him out. Sometimes I wait, sometimes I just leave him out there. But I think the ideal way is to stay out there so you can praise him. In real life, sometimes we have other things that have to be done, so as long as he's in a proper place, I don't see harm in that. I don't use treats to help teach house training. I read that is will distract the dog. Now, with Julia, and 'reverse house training' I have used treats twice, they were days apart, so she didn't know. The reason I don't do treats, I have read and it makes since so I believe it for now :}, is the dog will squat as if going and get a treat when he/she didn't actually go. And I found with Julia... I pulled the treat out too soon and she stopped going to get the treat. :( Oh well!
Ohh!! Julia has been eliminating out ride all by her self!! I no longer have to keep her in a kennel or tied to me! I no longer have to take her out on a leash to make sure she goes! I am so excited! I keep an eye on her and take her outside, or follow her when she goes upstairs alone, but I feel confident that she goes outside at LEAST 99% of the time! :) Now I just need to keep my eye on my goal for Shakespeare. :) Have any ideas, or words of encouragement? :)

I think you are doing a very good job house training! :) Annie now never goes potty in the house. One time I shut my door and Annie kept scratching on my door, so I let her out and then she ran strait to to the outside door so I let her outside and she had to go... bad! :) How I house trained Annie was I don't yell at her, I put her nose in her potty then I put her outside every time. And she caught on very quick! :) I hope this helps! :)
Aww! Thank you Deanna! Maybe I will try putting his nose in it. Did you put her nose in it only when you caught her, like she had just gone so it was still warm? Not 'old' pee, right? I am not asking to judge, just to know what I should do. :) Thank you for commenting!
I did only put Annie's nose in it if I saw her do it. That way wile she was going or just did, she would know it was bad to do. :) I hope they get really good at it soon! :)
Ok! That is what I figured! :) Thanks! :D
